Mrs. Ollie M. Whitmore Greene
January 28, 1921- March 9, 2012
Educator: Saint John Elementary and High School Calhoun County, South Carolina
Mrs. Ollie M. Whitmore Greene was an African- American Teacher in the 1950s where she joined her husband Sumter S. Greene Sr. (Principal) of Saint John Elementary and High School in Calhoun County, South Carolina.
Ollie Mae W. Greene, who taught and served under the leadership of her husband Sumter S. Greene Sr. was blessed with a rewarding career, until she retired. Even today, many students taught by Mrs. Greene continue to live enriched, productive lives because of her quiet but resounding educational tools which she shared with them.
Mrs. Greene was a missionary and a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church Saint Matthews, South Carolina where she served on several committees.
She was a member of the Twenty and Four Social Club.
Education: Bachelor of Education Degree at Clafin College (University) Orangeburg, South Carolina
